Cutting Down on Races

Don't get me wrong. I've decided to cut down on races, not on running. I think I've already mentioned it on my previous blogs that I've learned that I should be a bit more picky with the races I join. I've realized that there are races that are nice to join and there are races that I have to join. Right now, I've set my sights on the Condura Skyway Run for the Whale Sharks. I figure that if I want to be ready for this one, I'll have to forego all the races until then just to make sure I'll be ready for it. It's a sacrifice I am more than willing to make.

Now that the race website is finally up, I know that I am not alone in my excitement for this race. I'm so excited that I've already printed out multiple copies of the registration form and I've started bugging my officemates to join me in this race. Like always, I also offered to register for them.

I'm just glad that all of a sudden, I have something to look forward to again. Just so you know about what I'm talking about, here's the race course for the 21k event:

stumble upon your blog while I was checkin on the races for 2009. like you, me and my husband are just new in the running world. i joined my first marathon in 2007, followed by Mens Health in August 2008, The Oct 4th Run, KOTR, UNicef and almost all the marathon in the FORT/Mckinley Hills. My husband Jonas convinced me to do this blog so we can technically document our races and get connected with other runners like you. Like you, we have registered for the 21k in Condura. This will be our first ever 21k. I am agitated yet excited on March 22. Hope to see you on succeeding races.

Great thinking. With races set for every weekend, we are all going to injure ourselves if we don't choose our battles. See you at Condura!
